SATTRANS Repeaters usage

SATTRANS Repeaters serve to provide radio coverage indoors (area of 400-1600 sq.m) without direct visibility on GMPCS Thuraya satellite, i.e. in "radio shadow" area: - in different enterprises, warehouses, in tunnels, etc. for corporate usage benefit - in areas of high population or personnel density - in demonstration areas (exhibitions, service centers, shops) - in "exotic" places. For example: in subway, on board of cruise boats, planes, in trains, etc. - in open areas behind multi-storied buildings, mountains, in shelters etc.        Considering the peculiarities of the place of installation and clients requirements, application of Repeater helps to improve the quality of communication services for Thuraya subscribers.        We have significant results in local communication system designing: - SATTRANS Repeater is presented in two variants: Repeater and Micro Repeater - The proper variant of Repeater and power unit installation (for indoor/outdoor usage) - Optimum variants of internal/external antennas installation        Picture 1 shows the example of the coverage provided with one Repeater. As you see, it can cover 2 and more lodgings (offices) situated on one or different floors. It is obvious, that covering one lodging is the easiest case.        For such a case it is necessary to make calculations of the power of signals transmitted to the 1st, 2nd etc. rooms. Numerous factors should be taken into consideration: configuration of every room, signal propagation, the material walls are made of and so on.

Outdoor usage.

Picture 5 shows the indoor usage of Repeater. In this case Repeater is installed on a mast. It is very important to provide antennas isolation by creating the natural obstacle between them (a house, a hill etc.) or by antennas separation. Installation of internal antenna on a mast provides coverage on a maximum area. External antenna can be fixed below (at the foot of the hill, building etc.).
