ACTIVATE YOUR THURAYA ACCOUNT
To start using your new Thuraya service you must validate and activate your Thuraya prepaid account.
You don’t have to sign a contract or undergo credit checks.
1)To VALIDATE your account, please let us know that you have received your order with the prepaid SIM-card. Your Thuraya account will be validated within one business day.
2) Now you must ACTIVATE your Thuraya account by making the first call to a toll-free Thuraya service number. You must be located in the area of the Thuraya coverage. Please follow these instructions:
- Insert the SIM-card in your Thuraya phone and power on the phone
- Make sure you select SAT Only mode in the System Pref. menu
- Register in the Thuraya network: you should see THURAYA on the screen and a not-blinking satellite signal indicator on the upper right corner of the display
- Dial 150 (toll-free)
- Listen to voice instructions
- Select your preferred language of service: 1 for English, 2—Arabic, 3—French, 4—Russian, 5—Farsi. Press 1 to confirm your selection.
- Your Thuraya account is now active
- You will hear information about your current balance and account expiry date
Important! If you don’t activate your Thuraya account within 6 months after validation, your SIM-card will be blocked and the account will be terminated.
ADDING AIRTIME
Your new Thuraya prepaid account includes $10 of airtime, 100 free text messages and 30 minutes of Internet access so that you can start using your service immediately after activation.
You can add more airtime to your Thuraya account by using a scratch card or by requesting direct deposit of airtime from SATTRANS.
Scratch cards can be purchased at online Online Shop. The 14-digit refill PIN-code will be sent to you by e-mail.
When you receive the PIN-code follow the instructions below to recharge your Thuraya account with a scratch card.
By dialing 150
- Register your phone in the Thuraya network: you should see "THURAYA" on the screen and the stable satellite level indicator on the upper right corner of the screen
- Dial 150 toll-free
- Press 1 to refill balance
- Enter the 14 digits of your PIN-code, then press #
- You will hear information about the updated balance and the date of your account expiry date
Via SMS
- Register your phone in the Thuraya network: you should see "THURAYA" on the screen and the stable satellite level indicator on the upper right corner of the screen
- Write a new text message with your 14-digit scratch card PIN-code in the following format: #XXXXXXXXXXXXXX#
- Press "Select", then "Send", enter number 150
- Your balance will be refilled
Through Direct Dialing
- Register your phone in the Thuraya network: you should see "THURAYA" on the screen and the stable satellite level indicator on the upper right corner of the screen
- Key in 160XXXXXXXXXXXXXX and press the 'Send' button (where 160 – service code, XXXXXXXXXXXXX – the 14-digit PIN-code.)
- You will be advised to wait through a voice prompt.
- A notification SMS informing about the progress of the refill transaction will be sent to you immediately.
On the Web
Notes:
- The Web password for your Thuraya account can be obtained by: 1) sending an empty text message (SMS) to number 1522 (standard SMS charge will apply), 2) requesting the new password from SATTRANS Customer Support. There is no additional cost for obtaining the password except for the charge of sending a regular SMS message.
- Prepaid refill service is free, but US $0.25 will be charged against your account for each wrong attempt.
CHECKING BALANCE
By dialing 151
- Register your phone in the Thuraya network: you should see "THURAYA" on the screen and the stable satellite level indicator on the upper right corner of the screen
- Dial 151 toll-free to check your current balance
On the Web
- Visit http://bills.thuraya.com
- Select type of account to be viewed: PREPAID
- Type in the last 8 digits of your Thuraya telephone number (after 88216)
- Type in your Web password (see Notes below)
- Click “OK” to view your account balance and status

Maximum message length including your name is 160 characters.
